This plate was drawn by the artist Anaïs
Toudouze, a famous woman illustrator of
the period who was at the center of a talented
family of artists and art critics in the Belle
Epoche. Her father was the artist Alexandre-Marie
Colin, and her husband was the architect and
engraver Gabriel Toudouze. Her son became a
well-known art critic in the circles around
Emile Zola.
Signed in the plate by the artist.
Condition: Some light creases, some spotting, and discoloration. Spots are less pronounced than they look in this scan
